WandaVision Episode 8 Reaction

Episode 8: Previously On OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS...what an episode that was. I haven't felt so engrossed in something since at least Mandalorian S2E8 and maybe not since Endgame???? Is that crazy to say?? I loved this episode. Absolutely loved it.  Right from the beginning this episode grabbed my attention. The Marvel Studios logo turning purple for Agatha?? Fantastic little touch. The scene setting Agatha up as an extremely powerful witch was so well done. I thought at first she was going to be sentenced to execution for being a witch as part of the Salem Witch Trials, but what a swing it was to see her being sentenced by fellow witches for doing evil!!! Such a cool twist!! The memory sequence was absolutely bone chilling and made this whole episode what it was. Seeing Wanda's past traumas not only gave us a true origin story, but also connected us with the character as we see her deal with tragedy after tragedy, losing loved one after loved one. I only wish we could have se...

WandaVision Ep7 Reaction

Episode 7: Breaking the Fourth Wall This episode was kind of a tough one for me to decide whether I was a fan of it or not at first. Most of the episode was really cool and we're definitely getting into the meat and potatoes of the show, but there were a couple things that just didn't quite resonate with me. If you haven't seen the episode yet, go check it out before reading the rest of this blog. If you're reading this after watching because you want to know if I agree with you, let's take a little trip down the page and discuss.... Alright let's start with the title. It's very clever this episode as Wanda talks to the audience a la Modern Family  but it also refers to the way that Wanda's "wall" between reality and Westview is starting to fail. Very clever producers or writers or whoever decides on titles. If you came here expecting a professional review, I'm afraid that's not this website. Next let's discuss my one real qualm wi...

WandaVision Episode 6 Reaction

Episode 6: All-New Halloween Spooktacular!  This one probably falls lower down on my favorite episodes list. It feels like a pause in the momentum generated by the previous episodes, which seemed to be really getting the  overall story moving along. I don't really like Pietro's character, played by Evan Peters once again, but maybe that's the point? I've heard rumors that maybe he isn't who he says he is, so it all could be planned. I also wasn't really a fan of the style the sitcom followed in this one, which is really not a big deal at all, as that aspect of the show will change next episode. One theme of this episode I really enjoyed was Vision's search for truth.  I continue to dislike Agnes's character just because her voice kind of annoys me. It's cool to see the kids' powers start to develop a bit more, and it will be interesting to see what age they end the show at. Maybe teenagers poised to join the first iteration of the Young Avengers?...

WandaVision Episode 5 Reaction

Season 1 Episode 5: On A Very Special Episode... I've been procrastinating writing this blog because to be honest I'm still not quite sure where I land on this specific episode. Don't get me wrong, I loved it from an entertainment standpoint, but as for what it does for the MCU going forward? That I'm not so sure on.  SPOILERS BELOW There are some really cool lore moments in this episode. It's very heavily hinted that Wanda's kids are Wiccan and Speed, her children from the comics. It's also slightly hinted that Wanda is truly Magneto's daughter. One of Magneto's famous trademark moves is turning authorities' guns on themselves thanks to his ability to manipulate metal. Wanda does just this using her telekinetic powers on S.W.O.R.D.'s men after LEAVING the bubble!! Can we acknowledge that??? Wanda just walks out of the bubble and threatens the agents, then walks right back in. It's incredible to see how insane her powers are now. There...
