 Alright, I should have written and posted this blog days ago, but I didn't and now I am. I totally forgot that the NHL was doing another Reverse Retro series this season. Recently, a leak has come out showing what the Canucks jersey is going to look like, and it seems to be pretty legit, although not entirely confirmed just yet. Here's a look at the jersey if you haven't seen it already.  I've seen people giving pretty mixed reactions to the jersey so far. I really like it. I think it is relatively simple and nice looking, but it also captures the spirit of the project. The whole point of the Reverse Retro series is to take an old jersey and recreate it with today's colors, or flip the colors on the original uniform if the team still uses the same colors.  OKAY!!! WE HAVE BIG UNIFORM NEWS!! Greg Wyshynski of ESPN has reported that after the 2023/2024 season, Adidas will no longer be the manufacturer and designer of NHL uniforms. Right now I think most people are expecting Nike to take over when that change happens, and if you have read any of my recent MLB blogs, you already know how I feel about that.  The logo for the 2023 MLB All-Star game has just been announced! As always, I am getting the news from Chris Creamer on Twitter (@sportslogosnet) . This will be a pretty short review, since it is just a logo, but I wanted to give my thoughts on it real quick.  I think this logo is absolutely gorgeous. I am a big fan of the Mariners' color palette and I think they look great on this logo. I love that the main accent on this logo is the nature that people associate with the Pacific Northwest. It's a place I've always wanted to go, and this logo just further enhances that desire. Not to be forgotten though, is the Space Needle in the top left! I really like that they didn't have the needle be the main focus of this logo. Of course, it is an iconic landmark in Seattle, but I think having it be off to the side was a really good decision.  This is a logo that would look great on jerseys in next year's game, on the caps they'll wear, and on the promo materials.  Spider-Man 2 Release Date: June 30, 2004 Directed By: Sam Raimi Rating: 7.3 The second movie in Tobey Maguire's series, Spider-Man 2  did not disappoint me. I was fairly surprised by how much I liked the first movie, and this one followed it up nicely. I thought the cast's chemistry was a lot better in this movie than it was in the first installment. I also found the story to be very compelling. I enjoyed seeing Peter Parker struggle to balance his secret life with his normal life, which I know is a common trope, but I thought it was done really well in this movie. We actually got to see him not only struggle with the balance but FAIL at it! He even quits being Spider-Man at a point. I was certainly not expecting that and I thought it was a really cool idea to play around with. I did think the original movie did a few things better, one of which was the villain.  Spider-Man Directed by: Sam Raimi Rating: 7.8 As someone who only really got into movies around 2016, I missed out on the original Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. I also missed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield. We'll get into those another time though. With the rumors that Tobey Maguire AND Andrew Garfield are going to be in No Way Home , I figure it's about time for me to catch up on their original movies. I had to start from the beginning, so I went ahead and watched Tobey Maguire's first movie last night. Pros I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I was going to. While it was kind of campy, I really enjoyed the story and the action that went with it. As advertised, Tobey did a really good job playing Peter Parker.  Eternals Directed by: Chloe Zhao Plot Rating: 7.8 Emotional Rating: 6.3 Villain Rating: 5.1 Overall MCU Rating: 73% Eternals is the most recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has been extremely anticipated by most MCU fans leading up to its release because of the possible spectacle it could be. For me, it didn't quite live up to that spectacle but was still an enjoyable watch. I've seen a lot of differing opinions so far. Some people have loved the movie, while others have hated it and feel let down by Chloe Zhao and Marvel. I think I land somewhere in the middle, as I had fun watching it, and am excited for the doors it opened for the future of the MCU but I also feel like it didn't quite live up to what I was expecting of it.  Pros I loved the characters in this movie.  Game 20: March 3, 2021 Capitals 2 – Bruins 1 (SO) This was probably one of the most entertaining 1-1 “tie” games you’ll find.
