WandaVision Reaction Blog: Episodes 1&2
Alright I've just finished the first 2 episodes of Marvel's new Disney+ series and I think the best word to describe my initial feelings is intrigued. It's very very interesting to see modern characters in a vintage setting, and not having grown up during that time, I have to say that from what I know, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany capture the tone very nicely. I would be curious to hear what someone who grew up with the older sitcoms would have to say though.
I had heard that there would be some sort of tie in with this show to the overall MCU and that it will have an effect on the upcoming multiverse plot, but I was skeptical that the show would start slow in that sense and save those plot lines for the end of the season. Already in the first two episodes though, there are rumblings of a larger plot beyond what we see on screen, and I am very excited to see how that plays out. The show also plays around with fun ideas like Vision's artificial intelligence and the couple's relationship compared to a "normal" pair. Safe to say I am extremely excited for (hopefully?) another two episodes next week.
I really enjoyed writing this blog, as Marvel has quickly become a large part of my life, and the MCU represents to me what Star Wars may have been for much of the previous generation. I am cautiously optimistic to see where the MCU goes after the plot of the Infinity Saga, and look forward to sharing my thoughts with you all as this journey goes on!
